Construction for Phase Three Revitalization to Centennial Park will impact parking and movement through one of the city's most beloved and visited parks.
As part of the ongoing Centennial Park Revitalization, the upcoming improvements to the northern section of the park will introduce a new vehicular grand entrance along Park Plaza, repurpose the historic Croquet Clubhouse into a cafe, build a new Event Pavilion along Lake Watauga, and provide a bevy of walkability enhancements through new pathways. All work will occur in the north section of Centennial Park.
The north side of Centennial Park will be closed for construction through Fall 2026. 27th Avenue North is closed from just north of the Parthenon driveway to just east of the previous entry on Park Plaza. 28th Avenue North, leading to the sand volleyball pit and the Park Police Office will be open throughout the duration of construction.
The Centennial Art Center and its parking lots will remain accessible for the entire duration of construction. The Sunken Garden and Lake Watauga walking trails will be accessible for most of the construction schedule. The Parthenon and its parking lot and the common event (large turf field) will also remain open during this construction phase.
