Construction in the Eastside of Centennial Park
Construction on the eastside of Centennial Park will begin on Monday, January 5, 2026 near 25th Avenue North across from the TriStar Centennial Hospital. Be mindful of any potential closures within the area during this 38-week construction project.
Lake Watauga Walking Loop Closure
Beginning Monday, January 5, 2026 a portion of the walking loop around Lake Watauga in Centennial Park (see purple area) will be closed until mid-January. Crews will be working to remove invasive plant material and underbrush from the islands in the lake.
Parking Closures at Centennial Park
The northside of Centennial Park will be closed for construction through Fall 2026. 27th Avenue North will be closed from just north of the Parthenon driveway to just east of the previous entry on Park Plaza (red outline in map above).
28th Avenue North, leading to the sand volleyball pit and the Park Police Office will be open throughout the duration of construction. The Centennial Art Center and its parking lots will remain accessible for the entire duration of construction.
The Sunken Garden and Lake Watauga walking trails will be accessible for most of the construction schedule.
