Metro Parks and Recreations’ Procedures for Reopening of Facilities in Phase 2

Metro Parks and Recreations will continue to serve the public to the best of our ability, while also taking precautions outlined by the Center for Disease Control to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Much of Metro Parks work takes place in neighborhoods and areas of large public gatherings, which presents considerable challenges to the continuance of business as usual. Our highest priority is to protect the health and safety of our community. Adaptations, postponements, adjustments and cancellations will be posted on our website and social media, while we make efforts to communicate directly with all stakeholders.

May 26, Facilities Open at Half Capacity (50 percent)

Several facilities, closed in response to COVID-19, will reopen on Tuesday, May 26. The facilities—community centers, nature centers, golf clubhouses, the Centennial Sportsplex, and the Parthenon—will reopen with limited capacity and guidelines established by the Center for Disease Control and the National Recreation and Park Association. Detailed information regarding COVID procedures, can be found on our Parks and Recreation website, on the website of Metro Public Health Department and on the Facebook page of the appropriate facility.
