Plan to Play 2025 Update

Plan to Play, the countywide parks and greenways master plan, was originally completed in 2017. Over the course of 2025, Metro Parks is updating the plan. The update will identify and prioritize Nashville's park system needs for the next five years. Recommended actions and projects will be based on the implementation status of 2017 recommendations, new community input, and the latest best practices and recreation trends. Like the 2017 plan, P2PU will be organized according to the categories of Land, Facilities, Programs, Operations, Funding and Greenways.

The Plan to Play Update is narrowly focused and will not start from scratch. Metro Parks is committed to ensuring that the update is responsive to current public input while acknowledging that much of the input received from the community in 2017 remains valid. Overarching goals of 2025 public engagement are to 1. Determine if new or different needs have emerged, and 2. Prioritize projects and actions (both old and new) for implementation that reflect current values, preferences and fiscal constraints.

Note: All map comments will be harvested and removed weekly to maintain map legibility. All comments will be compiled for review and analysis after the survey closes on July 31.

Plan to Play 2025 Update Public Meetings

In early June, five public open houses were hosted by Metro Parks across Davidson County to solicit input from the community.
